what is cheekyarn made from?
loop 8 starts life as recycled plastic bottles and is transformed into a super bulky yarn cone for contemporary textile making. Designed for bold colour, soft texture, and everyday creative practice.
why did you make cheekyarn?
we wanted to create materials that felt contemporary, functional, and worth making with. loop 8 turns recycled PET waste into a yarn designed for rugs, installations, and modern textile projects.
what can i make with it?
loop 8 is designed for tufting, soft sculpture, installations, and contemporary textile projects.
what needle or hook size should i use?
for knitting and crochet, we recommend 10–12mm needles or hooks. for weaving and punch needle, it depends on your setup — loom size, frame, tension.
how do i care for finished pieces?
hand wash or machine wash at 30°C. lay flat to dry — no tumble dryer. no bleach. colour fastness is grade 4–5/5, so the colours hold up wash after wash.
what tension should i expect?
every setup and technique works differently, especially across knitting, weaving, and tufting. we always recommend testing a small sample before starting larger projects.
is loop 8 only for tufting?
not at all. while loop 8 was developed through tufting culture, it’s designed for a wide range of contemporary textile practices including weaving, soft sculpture, knitting, punch needle, and installation work.
