faq
what is cheekyarn made from?
loop 8 starts life as a plastic bottle. it ends up as a super bulky yarn built for bold making — tested for colour fastness, pH and formaldehyde.
why did you make cheekyarn?
if you're going to make something, it might as well be made from something that already existed. loop 8 is 100% recycled PET — yarn that starts as plastic waste and ends up in your hands, ready to become something new. creating with recycled materials just makes sense to us. why use new when there's already so much to work with?
what can i make with it?
plenty. knitting, crochet, weaving, punch needle, tufting, soft sculpture, textile art, accessories — loop 8 doesn't care what you make, as long as you make something. it's a multi-use yarn cone, not a one-trick product.
what needle or hook size should i use?
for knitting and crochet, we recommend 10–12mm needles or hooks. for weaving and punch needle, it depends on your setup — loom size, frame, tension.
how do i care for finished pieces?
hand wash or machine wash at 30°C. lay flat to dry — no tumble dryer. no bleach. colour fastness is grade 4–5/5, so the colours hold up wash after wash.
what tension should i expect?
it varies depending on your technique and tools. as a rough guide for knitting: approx. 8–10 stitches to 10cm on 10–12mm needles. always worth doing a quick swatch before you dive in.
do you offer wholesale or b2b pricing?
yes. we work with yarn shops, textile studios, craft schools and creative businesses.
